I think Our Bodies Ourselves was first printed in 1973 and The Joy of Lesbian Sex in '88
with those fabulous drawings

I remember when JoAnn Loulan "came out" that she was in a relationship with a man
And Holly Near was as well but she but never stopped performing at the women's festivals although she would be asked about it occasionally
Loulan seemed to have a much harder time of it though in queer women's community
I don't know why there was such disparity in their treatment
(even Butch/Femme was still an ongoing controversy!)-but maybe it was down to their respective communities ?

One of the best non-medical inventions:

the internet

I can find and watch almost anything : )
Now, if only there were a truly international TV site I'd be in heaven :)

That between 15,000 and 60,000 species are becoming extinct each year...

That Yahoo email has bizarre threading feature, adding conversations unrelated to new email. Gave me a shock as I thought I got some virus! Only good thing about it is that you can switch it off!!!

Not to beat yourself up over things that do not turn out as expected.  Yes it is natural to be hurt, angry or disappointed but then move on.  Life is too short to worry.  There are plenty of good things to be had and they are staring you in the face.  I have a LOT to be thankful for.

that if someone cannot reflect on their behaviour they will never change therefore you have to change in order for the situation to change.

^  I agree but in my case I had to exit the friendship as it was becoming toxic and one sided.  At least I can hold my head up high in the knowledge that I behaved correctly and if she cannot then it is her loss and a shame on her part because she obviously does not know how to behave and treat people correctly.
