any good places to check out? if i have any teeth left by saturday night - decent places to eat always appreciated! otherwise, good watering holes.

Haven't been there for a while, but when I lived there, there were two really nice bars on Plac Trzech Krzyzy - Sparka and Spilka.  Live DJs, nice atmosphere.

Also, on Swientokrzyska there was a bar called Komissariat.  Vaguely a theme bar based on communist police force where the waitresses dress up with handcuffs.

To eat, try Soma or Tam Tam on Smolna street.  But my info is hopelessly out of date, sorry!

I quite like the InYourPocket guides for Eastern Europe.  Here's their Warsaw guide.
