Lesbian visibility
« on: Jul 17, 2018, 12:56:34 PM »
There was a fair bit of it over the weekend with the L-Fest event, this year in Llandudno.

There was this write-up in the Daily Post:

And it was also covered on BBC Breakfast:

Iíve been a couple of times before (and also performed) and I can say it is truly lovely to be connected with lesbians from all over the UK. Would definitely recommend if youíre wanting to immerse yourself in a female environment, do a range of activities that are lesbian-centred, and strengthen lesbian visibility. Itís where all the lesbians are.

That Daily Post article annoyed me. The author admits that tickets are like gold dust and then at the end recommends it for straight people. I know LFest doesnít discriminate and everyone is welcome, but I am of the opinion that real allies shouldnít take up space or take away space from marginalised groups.
