Louise Bennet - Jamaica Labrish
« on: Apr 01, 2018, 03:51:57 AM »
Hello everyone.
I am looking to find a bookshop, London, UK, or otherwise, where I can buy a copy of Jamaica Labrish by Louise Bennett. My own original copy bought fin Jamaica by my mother was borrowed by a friend and never returned. Can anyone please help with my wanting to reminisce reading those mother tongue poems, and also wanting to share those very humourous and original rhymes.

Try Goodreads or Amazon which had second hand copies for sale when I checked.

The only Black British Book shop I could find is New Beacon Bookshop based in North London.

Hope this helps.

Hi elaine

I've not heard of Louise Bennett, but I recently bought a book from Housmans (N1, tel 02078374473). They call themselves 'a radical bookshop'...but, they're super-helpful and lovely.
Nye Bevan, 'the NHS will exist for only as long as the people fight for it'...or something like that.
