Lesbian series and films
« on: Sep 12, 2017, 07:14:00 PM »
Hey everyone,

Just got round to watching Different for Girls, a free web series about a group of lesbian and bi women in London. If you want some salacious lesbian drama in 15 minute episodes you might like it. And no one gets killed off!

It's on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxri5xtdddBw0VV84LDIXCA/videos

Have you found any good new TV or film featuring queer women recently?

to be honest i couldn't get into that at all.

also if i remember rightly the first scene is a straight sex scene which was off-putting.

are there any other mini series?

^Same, apart from you missed out that vomit precedes straight sex. I just watched the first episode. It looks total carp and like it cost four pence to make. Maybe it's different for women who don't mind being called "girls".

Cloudburst
Brenda Fricker and Olympia Dukakis
an old couple-an old femme butch couple-a rare and wonderful portrayal
and what a fabulous team they were
just the scene in the diner where they are negotiating their marriage proposal was worth it's weight in gold

why the writers had to put in not one but two naked men was just enraging
you don't get that many male bits and pieces in most straight movies

I expect they're open to screening requests.

I just tried watching the first episode of Different for Girls.
I can't say I'm immediately enamoured of a series that opens with vomit followed by straight sex.
Also, in the first 7 minutes there were two scenes with young children, and the adults were having conversations I wouldn't have with children present and using language I don't like to use in front of mine even now.

they probably thought they were being really edgy doing that.

I liked watching Lip Service so much that I am mentioning it here even though it is so well known.

Yes. Or just showing that nobody involved in those scenes has kids (which is fair enough) or could be bothered to find out whether that was realistic (which is not).
