They had loads of them for 14p because it's a small T£sco's attached to a petrol station in a very poor neighbourhood and so stocking the shelves with high priced items to recoup the cost of the shop space, doesn't seem to work out too well if hardly anyone going there knows what a passion fruit is any more than I do, and is definitely not going to shell out £1.10 to find out. What I'm hoping is that it's some kind of wonder food and GB can tell me all about it (as of old), and then I can leap on my bike and race back to get the rest. Anyway, in the meanwhile, these particular passion fruits are best before 3rd April and according to the packet "make a vibrant topping to any dessert", which would be fine, if I ate dessert but I only eat fruit. Maybe they mean passion fruits can tart up an ordinary fruit salad made from apples, bananas, grapes and kiwis, which I also have. But I don't think so, these passion fruits look more like ornaments. They feel kind of ornamental because they're not very heavy given their size and they have smooth, purple skins, with no 'give'. They're with the bananas because I bet they're not ripe at all.
