From the John Oliver Show last night. I ❤️ John Oliver.

A protest song by various American artists (including Queen Cyndi Lauper) berating Trump et al for using their music in his campaign.

It's catchy in that 80s charity song way..

I also really want to stay up for Hilary's speech but I don't think I'll manage it.

Just thinking out loud here, but what happens if democracy really isn't working and it produces terrible consequences such as Trump becoming president and (in my opinion) the UK exiting the EU? Because most people don't seem able to wade through the lies being told or critically analyse the voice of social media.  It could mean several  really bad people could get into power in the so called civilised nations just because they have a lot of narcissistic charm.

1933. Even before social media. Hitler was democratically elected. Once in power, you can dismantle the democracy.

^His similarities to Mussolini are extraordinary and frightening

Hillary is expected to be impossibly perfect....or else we get him

She deleted loads of incriminating emails and said she was poor when in fact, she's very rich. Many people think she should be in jail.
was-past tense

mysogynistic country. (can't spell that).
also, Republicans dig and fight dirty. Democrats don't. If you google the Logan Act or simply define treason,
the other night Trump was televised asking Russia  to find her emails. She was Secretary of State.

If anyone else said that they would have been handcuffed & carted off to jail. If Hilary said it, she would be finished with her pursuit
of this election.
But, so far Democrats are just letting it happen!!!!!  That upsets me that they do not fight back. Bush/Cheney invaded Iraq...the beat goes on.

A woman with decades of non-profit work, two term First Lady, two term Senator, Secretary of State and she has to be up against a man the caliber of Donald Trump

that at it's most basic whatever your personal politics are- is so wrong

Dirty tricks are how Repugs win elections
and the machinations against Hillary began when she was First Lady and Newt Gingrich managed to get into a position of power
They have been afraid of her for decades and misogyny is the dog whistle
and very sadly the same whistle has been heard by a contingent of lefties

If it were Palin at least people wouldn't vote for her just because they didn't want a woman President.

I woke up at 5am and watched the pundits discussing Hillary's speech and what was very heartening was the fact that so many conservatives were impressed.  It seemed like Hillary had managed to position herself as the Patriotic one and Trump as antipatriotic.  That's better than I imagined she could get as her outcome.
