Some blue hairspray from Superdrug but it made no difference.  It does work on dark hair so maybe I need a different shade of blue.

Yes it is bright.  I got some more blue hairspray today of a darker shade but it still did not work.  I think I will have a word with my hairdresser to see what she suggests because blue hairspray does work on dark hair as proven in the video I posted  :-\

They can put some 'fashion colours' in fairly cheaply (last time I had 'em,  £20 a stripe) but they fade very quickly.

Like 2 weeks.

I don't want fashion colours that fade in two weeks because I could not wear my hair like that for work so it would have to be a spray that goes on for an evening and washes out again after

Really, do these restrictions still exist?   :o

it depends on the person.  I prefer to look conservative at work.

I ordered some coloured clip in hair streaks from Amazon.  Better than hairspray which is messy.

Two 2'x2' panes of glass for my greenhouse. A workshop type place and the guy cut them for me while I waited. £3.50 a piece but he didn't have change so let me have two for a fiver. He said to spread the word  ;D

One of those cleaning CDs with brushes and lens cleaner. My CD player is doing that no disk thing. I hope it works and doesn’t scratch the lens.
I also did my weekly shop which I shan’t bore you about

I've been reading this article this morning about the slow movement and consumption.

http://www.kinfolk.com/an-interview-with-carl-honore/

Of course, that got me thinking about what we spend our money on and I thought maybe we could have a thread about this.  I'm thinking non essential items, purely pleasure and desires.  Of course I don't want it to turn into something that we feel guilty about, but I'm interested as to whether our non essential items serve to improve our emotional and physical well being.  Are they ethically justified?

I'll start...

I bought white tulips this morning for my desk.

Anyone else care to share?

Thank you Slanty.

I agreed to let a dodgy (as in tax-dodging, hopefully nothing worse!) builder do a super-clean of my patio. Serendipitously, he knocked on my front door about an hour after I noticed that it was covered in moss. He used a jet spray thing and made quite a mess of the garden wall which I will have to rinse off, but the patio looks bloody amazing!

I confess this was yesterday, not today, though.

Tickets for this year‘s Common People. Sparks are playing, Sparks, I’m so excited. We are taking the boy along because there’s no one else to look after him. He better not moan and ruin it otherwise I’m going to accidentally lose him in the crowds.
