Nice.

Snooker's my 'go to' thing to watch for relaxation (all that green).  On telly mind - not at The Crucible.  My Dad used to pop in tho' when on business up North.

It was all the rage when I was growing up.  Does NOS play?

No, neither of us plays (the closest we get is playing pool, badly, at a friend's house) but I've been a fan since I was a kid and over the last couple of years NOS has started watching with me. I've been to the Crucible a few times by myself, so last year I asked NOS if he fancied coming with me and he said yes. So I've got 4 sessions booked over a weekend. It's a lot more expensive than it used to be though and you don't get to choose which matches you see, which is annoying! But I'm looking forward to it :D

Is it a biggy, tournament wise?  I'm a bit outta the loop.

This is on my Things To Do list next time I'm in the 'hood.  Was there last week bizzarely, but that was for a funeral so y'know...

Although I do worry about sitting so quietly for that long.  Would be fine if my doctor still dished out the Valium, in fact it'd be a mighty fine afternoon if so.  :)

We (all the siblings) sent my dad to the snooker with my brother as a birthday present once. It was in the early days of his dementia, I think he enjoyed it.

Yes, it's the Wimbledon of snooker :)
You do need to be able to sit quietly, for the length of 4 frames at least, then there's the mid-session interval. These days you can buy little earpieces so you can listen to the live commentary as well, so although you need to be quiet you aren't sitting in silence.
