What did you buy today
« on: Apr 02, 2015, 11:34:31 AM »
I've been reading this article this morning about the slow movement and consumption.

http://www.kinfolk.com/an-interview-with-carl-honore/

Of course, that got me thinking about what we spend our money on and I thought maybe we could have a thread about this.  I'm thinking non essential items, purely pleasure and desires.  Of course I don't want it to turn into something that we feel guilty about, but I'm interested as to whether our non essential items serve to improve our emotional and physical well being.  Are they ethically justified?

I'll start...

I bought white tulips this morning for my desk.

Anyone else care to share?

I bought some red orchid hair clips at Accessorize at Gatwick.

Then they came for Piers Morgan and I said he's over there behind the sofa.'

I'm going out shortly to TRY and buy a grey wig, tiara and blue rollneck jumper for my Mrs Peacock outfit to wear to the Cluedo night on Saturday.

A hot chocolate and a bun for NTC on the way to get her eyes tested this morning.

We ate in the BHS cafe which does an 'all you can eat' cooked breakfast for a bargain 3.99! Unfortunately I'm fasting today so could not partake (so when I say 'we ate' I mean 'NTC ate').

I got my costume.

Granny wig, tiara, peacock blue jumper, also a top and scarf in case I didn't like the jumper idea,
A modern version of Cluedo that I don't like the look of but it was only 3.
A pair of H & M black and white trousers, a scarf, a jigsaw with old Pears adverts on it.
All second hand.

I treated myself to two Adult colouring books, one retro patterns and one folk art patterns.

I have to be the Reverend.  My costume is just creepy.

Anyway today I bought lots of bedding plants and alpines, some seeds, a sunflower and a planting trough.

Then I gardened.  Happy.
