Are you referring to the fantasy of any form of peace on the GB forum,
Or the realistic possibility of World Peace in the next week or so ?

Funny enough, GB didn't even figure.

I was thinking of peace generally on earth.

I was thinking peace of mind on an individual basis.

I think peace on earth is a Star Trek fantasy. Heck, with all that peace on earth, they had to find all manner of aliens to fight to keep the viewing figures high. Even the hippy dippy Star Trekkers (like me) seemed to enjoy the conflict. A strange way maybe of saying there is little hope of world peace.

Peace of mind can be achieved at times. This could hardly be a constant, what with the whirl of the world, but certainly moments may occur with a openness to it.

So in this mad, conflict driven world, moments of peace are possible.

...................I  feel that world peace is possible, it needs to start with our own inner peace which comes  from  learning  love ourselves with all our  human failings, which in turn teaches us to understand others and feel compasion for mankind as a "whole" and if we can achieve that, then we see no one as "the enemy".............result, peace and happiness

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE ;D

It's looking a lot less likely now unfortunately, just want to say how absolutely speechless I am watching the news, no words for this really, just none, going off line for a bit.

like there is a sun  & moon, day and night, I believe, as Aristotle did, there will always  be good  and  evil. Moreover, the  gravest of evil, megalomania

The Koch brothers  in the USA are worth 66 billion  & do everything to avoid or lower what they have in taxes.

I think $$$$/    will always  be a problem

Not world peace, no. But that doesn't mean that peace can't exist in some areas (thankfully!).
Peace of mind? Yes.. but hard to achieve. In my view. But I do believe some people definitely get there.
lemonflower,I agree. That's  what I meant in a previous  post about microcosms.  WE can build  our own little networks of peace. Macrocosmically,   there are just too many greedy, megalomaniacs
