What do you intend to do? (Set a goal for the day)
« on: Aug 07, 2013, 09:37:21 AM »
When I want to get something done but suspect I may become demotivated, I like to tell people what I plan to do.  Mostly, it helps because I don't want to admit later that I didn't do it without a valid reason ha ha.

I have an online friend that I exchange photos and dialogue with to keep us both on task and to make potentially boring tasks actually quite fun.  I thought it could be beneficial for us to have somewhere for this on gb.

This is a thread for anyone who wants to commit themselves to achieving tasks and possibly give or receive encouragement.

If I don't make any sense, just ask me... I usually mostly know what I think I could possibly mean.

Well, in my case, today...

It would be a start if I got myself dressed, and into work! ::) ;D

Today I intend to:
Finish organising stuff in my bedroom
Clean the kitchen
Ring BT
Clear the dining table
Get son to remove his washing, pots, rubbish.

Go!

Sigh, yes this is not so useful on work days.
I need to dress and will do it as soon as I press post here...

I hope your day goes fast and uneventfully.  Do you have something rewarding to look forward to for when you return from work?

Dress, go!

I ave failed my mission.  It seemed like a doable list but I thong I was a bit too thorough with the bedroom tidying where I also store my hobby things and I worked flat out until 3 o'clock and still lot finished.
I did break off to do an essential visit to the council tip with a huge old TV set while my mum was available with her car.
I MUST finish this room this evening and have to reset my goals in the morning.
Ho hum.

Was it BT which got knocked off the list? Never mind, tomorrow is another day and my meanderings meant it was too late to ring gutter fixers when I got back.

So, I'll do that in the morning before I get sidetracked into marking out my new territory  ;D

It was indeed BT, and also getting the son's compliance regarding the removal of certain items because I needed him to be in a good enough mood to help me lift the tv into the car :)

I must finish this instead of looking at it...

This evening I made a motivation board to keep me on track with my running and physio :)

So tomorrow I have work. I also intend to do the washing up, run home from work, put some electric on the meter and go over to the missus'

:)

Thanks Creative.. Will let u know how it goes..although my parents have suddenly gone very quiet and Mum said they are very nervous...really hope it's alright...for them it's the biggest step ever..and I'm suddenly worrying that them being in a house with her and I for 2 weeks the first time they all meet might not have been the best idea....nervous...

Well I was just about to post that my goal every work day is to be in bed for 10.30pm as I need to be up at 06.30am.

Then I saw your post Mandy about long work days.

As my days are also mostly very long at work I try to get in 8 hours sleep. It helps if I can stick to this goal. Try is the operative word. ::)

Eventually you just feel burnt out. I actually get a bit narked if I don't get into bed by ten- with myself of course.  I have ten mins left then will be of up to get sorted , make -up off ,etc etc and hopefully in bed by ten-thirty. Only me to blame if I don't.

It really is my goal for the day.
