I'm 44, and mostly I like it a lot. My life has really got better with every decade. And my body can do awesome things, even tho it's beginning to crumble a bit.

I sometimes feel I need to explain myself for having moved back in with my mum at 24. But actually, it's been a lovely 18 months, and it's no one else's fvcking business. I was lucky to have the option available, yes.

I'm happy with my age, and with what I have and haven't got around to doing yet. I'm also very excited every time I read someone enthusing about their 40s.

I love age. I think it's a beautiful thing, truly. Women I have loved have been, by other peoples standards, significantly older than me. It's not that I only date people who are older but they are who I find myself most attracted to. 20's really don't do it for me in the dating world it seems.

I love women who have a story, who have lived and loved. I love the laughter lines, the morning sun catching the grey hairs that escaped their colour. Its a wonderful, beautiful thing.

write a list of things you want to accomplish before you're 30: fun stuff, achievements, whatever.

start accomplishing 'em.

I found everything got much better after the age of 30.

I'm not saying problems disappear. I could have the same old problems but I didn't respond in the same way and they didn't feel as bad. Or they stopped feeling like problems at all.

A bit like when you're a kid and all you want to eat is ice cream but you hate sprouts. Then one day you find yourself craving sprouts.

Mind you, the day after that you'll find yourself saving up for a new boiler and buying storage saving gadgets for the boot of your car. And you'll realise it was fifteen years since you cared to find out who was number one in the "hit parade." You may even start to notice that you have tea towels older than the people you currently work with.  But its all good.

Hmm, I will be 47 later this year. Is there something looming ahead that I should be afraid of (apart from an abundance of passing wind that is)?  Is there something that my elders have not warned me about?

I'm not that age yet but I have been warned that there may come a day when bath water may hide itself in places it didn't use to, then make a bid for freedom at random bus stops. It could be an urban myth  ???

No it's totally true. And my beard didn't start to grow in properly until I hit 30. I think that you're all whistling in the dark.

As a member of the advance party; I have done my research and I can confirm that there is nothing to be afraid of.  :)

I'm 40. It's okay.
But I am surprised at how bothered I am by aging. I had always thought the person in the mirror was pretty good-looking and used to accept compliments at face value. But my looks have changed and I don't know what to think of them anymore. I know that's utterly stupid but....

This morning I too woke in a panic at the prospect of turning 27 this year

But it all ok now

I remembered that I had in fact turned 27 almost 14 years ago

I can now confirm that gravity is indeed a fact

My 40s have been so fabulous I am actually looking forward to my 50s and my 60s.
When I retire I am looking forward to endless lie-ins and travelling.
I also love the fact that I am less concerned with what other people think of me than when I was in my 20s and 30s.

The only dark cloud on the horizon is the fact that the Govt is trying to get rid of teachers who cost more and those are the ones with experience.  I fear I may not be able to do the job I love as I had always imagined and will either have to go into management or leave altogether.  This feels like a tragedy to me and really f*cking short-sighted of this b*stard govt.

I have been fine with all of the 20s 30s 40s and now 50s :} But is it just me or does everyone get a pop up regularly when on this site telling them to buy a Stannah?? I mean- yes- with the amount of stairs in my house I could do with one- lol. But it is a conspiricy I think. Like 'they' know I am over 50!

Blythe- I work in the NHS and this b**tard f**king government are shafting us too! Why are they still in????
