I would.
Like this morning, my bed was warm and cozy, my dreams were pleasant, and I just wanted to roll over and dive back into sleep. There's a perfect moment when I'm awake enough to relish the fact that I'm asleep but not awake enough for all the horrors of life to rush in.

But alas, I can't. My body starts complaining about dehydration, and needing to pee, and stiffness. And then my mind pulls out it's usual litany of self-hatred and self-reproach. Ugh.

I love sleep and I love that in-between moment, especially on the rare occasions when I'm sort of lucid dreaming (and the dream is a good one). I used to stay up late reading/working but would always sleep in til 12 at weekends pre-children and feel totally wiped out on less than 8 hours. I genuinly think the one thing that would currently improve my quality of life more than anything is more sleep. I notice I'm so much more cheerful and positive when I've had a reasonable length of sleep, but with two children and a cat who seem to work on a relay basis getting me up a lot of nights it doesn't happen that much! Still, I'm my own worst enemy because I treasure the late evenings and Sundays when the children are in bed or at their Dad's and whilst I know I should prioritise sleep, I don't because there are so many other things I want to do.

Oh my, when my children were small I would sleep for a whole day on the rare occasions they were elsewhere. It was bliss!

^ Yep had about four hours earlier and woke up naturally rather than being woken. Was lovely!  :)

I love sleeping. Love it. If I had company (who didn't snore or kick) I could quite happily do a sleeping beauty style hundred years.
There are very few occasions where one exclamation mark isn't enough.

How would you know you had company if you were asleep? Wouldn't that be a bit of a waste?

Snugglesome awakenings alternated with the sleeping would be a better use of company. Taking turns to get breakfast. More groundhog day (in a good way) than sleeping beauty  ;D

I would like to have the ability to sleep more than 4-5 hours, without waking up...

After 2 nights in a row of about 4 hours of sleep, I'd just be happy with 8 hours straight, tonight.

During the week I usually only have 5hrs a night... *yawn.com*  I've only twice found myself nodding off at my desk...  ;D

Yes. Yes, I would.

Or at least I'd like to have good quality sleep. The sort where you wake up feeling refreshed.

I love sleep. I cannot do without 8 hours a night, which is why I'll never be an entrepreneur or anything powerful.

Yep, exactly that.

I can quite happily nap on top of that, too. The idea doesn't make me desperately happy - just think of all the things you could do instead, blah blah - but the physical reality of it is bliss.

Now, see, this is the bit I dont get. You're not there when you sleep. Which is one reason why I feel so resentful about it.
With food, you get to enjoy it all the way through.  Sleep, you get that nice drifting off, and the next thing you know the alarm blares into your ears & several hours of your life have been vanished. Every night.
It's not right.

Well, yeah. But I love the in-between bits on both sides of sleep (this might be helped by not having any alarms in a month now?), and I love how I feel when I'm getting vast quantities of sleep.

I wish there was a way to enjoy every moment of it, though. I'd never do anything else. I think I'd even pick sleeping over w@nking. :D

When you have a babe, AN, sleeping is a very worthwhile hobby! Get it wherever and whenever you can.

:) :-* It's very different sleep, isn't it ? Weirdly refreshing, but none of that lovely floating-on-the-edge sleep.
