You know, Bristol was originally called Brigstow but the local dialect tends to add an L to words without a consonant sound at the end, so it sounded like Bristol. Bristolians shop as Asdal if they have one in their local areal.

(even though i live in weston-super-mare, rather than bristol)

Other sayings i find amusing include 'gert lush' and 'coming down over the stairs'

well i would just say 'he's coming downstairs' (and no, no innuendo was implied at all there) but these people are saying 'he's just coming down over the stairs' which makes no sense to me at all....
