Mitakuye Oyasin - loosely translated =  We are all related.
And she saw that she looked like the Goddess Mothers she had just seen. ...........She left the museum juicy, full and ripe with possibilities.

The line from the Quaker 'manifesto' called Advices and Queries: "Think it possible that you might be mistaken."

I love the idea of a faith which encourages humility and tolerates doubt in this way.

^so do I!  Quakerism is not my personal path, but it is one of the few faiths for which I have immense respect.

"Now and Again it's good to pause in our pursuit of happiness and just be happy."

Guillaume Apollinaire
“God is really only another artist. He invented the giraffe, the elephant, and the cat. He has no real style. He just goes on trying other things.” Pablo Picasso

"You can't insure against the future, except by really believing in the best bit of you, and in the power beyond it." D.H. Lawrence

The one in my signature is a favourite. The first half of it was sculpted into the back of a stone bench overlooking a reflection pond at my university. It's from 'The Testament of Beauty' by Robert Seymour Bridges.

I've also always liked Tolkien's "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us."
"Well, at least I'm not a time-traveling, shape-shifting robot operated by miniaturized cross people. Which I've got to admit, I didn't see coming." ~ The Doctor

I *love* that.

I like this. Happiness is like a butterfly, if pursued it is always beyond our grasp, but which if we sit quietly, may alight upon us. Nathaniel Hawthorne.

A few of the ones I like

"The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it"

"Love without action is meaningless and action without love is irrelevant"

"The longer we dwell on our misfortunes the greater is their power"

"Nothing will come of nothing. Dare for mighty things"

"By being yourself, you put something wonderful in the world that was not there before'."
