Brighton ladies expecting our first in late November. IVF from the Agora in Hove, worked first time! Does anyone know the email address for rainbow families? I just want to know if the one I'm using (info@rainbowfamilies.org.uk)is supposed to work as I can't get a reply! The website is also playing up and not processing my attempts to register. Would love to meet other families in Brighton & Hove/East Sussex.

Little Candy arrived on 25th October, weighing 8 lb exactly.  It's taken a while to post as she became unwell (with pneumonia) at 10 days old and then spent 11 days in hospital!  She's back at home now though and doing really well.  Little Elvis (older brother, now 2 years and 2 months) can't decide whether he thinks she's really cute or incredibly annoying - which I guess is probably how he'll be about her for many years to come.

Thanks for all your congrats messages though and we will try again when the body is back to normal. We have a wonderful little boy though who has kept us smiling throughout and feel very blessed to have him.

Love, good health and best wishes to all of those expecting and hope we can join the list again in the future! xxx

Bumble ~ not the same donor no, not even the same clinic. Alfred was concieved through IVF in Sweden, Theo was a successful first try IUI at StorkKlinik in Copenhagen.
My mother says that Theo looks exactly like I did when I was new in the world.

Alfred is fascinated and sceptical.. but he loves Theo's hair. He's got a thing for hair. :)

Hi there

Many congratulations on your new arrival Peaches and family.  What beautiful photos!  Thanks for sharing.

I'm a Gingerbeer newbie (it even says so by my name!) but am happy to be added to the list please nismat!  The wife (T) and I conceived by first try IUI at the LWC - am still in shock that it worked first time!  Even as we left the clinic after the IUI we were asking what do we do next when this doesn't work! Our little bumpette is due to make his/her entrance to the world on the 6th July 2010.

Thanks!

K

Thank You, Kayo :)

And congratulations! Theo was also a first try IUI success, but his brother was concieved through IVF after 10 unsuccessful IUI and one failed IVF (my wife gave birth to Alfred).
It took us 3 years before Alfred arrived, so the surprise to have a successful first try IUI for me was a huge surprise...

And welcome to RF!! :D

Hi all

I am a lesbian studying on a Masters Course in Child and Adolescent Therapy. Part of my course requires that I observe a new born baby and their development.

Would like to be able to do this with a baby born to a Lesbian couple.

I am based in London, am a lesbian myself and would like to ask any mothers / mothers to be out there if they would be intersted in taking part in a Mother & baby observation.

If anyone is interested I can provide further details, letter of reference from my course, CRB checks etc.

Regards

Kris

Thank You all!

It's been a long journey but we got there in the end. It was a tough labour and needed Drs intervention at the end but all went well considering. We did have a few bad experiences at EGA but I don't see the point complaining since they helped bring my Precious bundle of Jai into the world.

@ Nimsat - No problem at all. The platelet count didn't make much difference. We already new that the Birthing centre was out of the question and Mrs SS did eventually need to go to OR for a forceps delivery.

Wow youve got your own baby to bob towards your bosoms now  ;D

im really pleased for you both. I really, really am. I know it was a struggle and long, painful journey but you've got there and now its all beginning. So many beautiful, wondrous amazing things await you and you're world is about to completely fall off its axis. Try and savour it all, even the crap bits. It's a cliche but it does go so quickly.

^So pleased for you Graciebaby!  :D

I am puzzled as to how Ava Rose is not on the list - she was due March 7th 2009, born February 4th 2009. Conception of successful pregnancy took 5 attempts(chemical pregnancies first 3 cycles). Home AI with known donor. Born 5 weeks early but no special care needed. If you could add her Nismat that would be lovely.

Have done so  :)
I think that I started this list to follow on from one that covered 2008, and only added those people who either posted on this thread, or sent a PM asking me to add them - it certainly doesn't have all the Rainbow Babies on it! I've recently renamed the thread, because it looked odd having a sticky named Rainbow Babies 2009/10 - which is probably also why no-one had asked to be added to the list in the last year or so!

And I have now added you Graciebaby as the first official 2012-er  ;)
Anyone else?

Congralations jett!

Our baby Sophia was born this Monday 15th aug weighing 6lb 14oz.

There are lots of babies born in the gap on this thread - I think there's a 2011 new babies thread which has dropped down a few pages - I'll give it a bump.
